A Hard Days Week

May 15, 2022

Photographer in Little Rock serving the central Arkansas area with professional photography. Headshots, business portraits, family, child, and senior photos keep us busy and having fun.

This week has been very difficult, and I didn't know until Friday morning. It is essential to look at your website as any customer would and see if it serves you correctly. As I called the website, the "Not Safe" screen came, which meant something was wrong with my SSL. SSL is the component in the web address that makes the connection between the computer and the source safe. However, this happened because my ISP, Internet Service provider," failed to give my account credit for my SSL payment and hence turned my SSL off. This act shut my site down; however, it takes several days to reinstate service, and at the time of this writing, it is still down. During this time of the year, students book their summer portrait sessions necessary for the yearbook, so the website is hectic, making appointments and collecting deposits. I don't respond well to sites that don't look safe, so I understand the reluctance of clients to use it. So what do people do when the website is down? They call the studio.
The next day, I looked at the Voice Mail messages on my iPhone; there were a number of them; I had to use the scroll function to get through them; what a mess. All my phone calls were going to Voice Mail.
