Our seniors are back in class, so real estate agents have a chance to make an appointment for their properties. Our business portraits/headshots are always a staple at the studio. Later this afternoon, I will take cheerleader photos at a local high school. I had no access to work in public schools because there were just too many students, and they would require a year-long contract with just a staff of two; it wasn't for me. So at this stage in my career, if I want to try something different, there is little downside to it. I went out of town twice this week. South Arkansas seems to have very few resources capable of making high-quality real estate photos. If my clients are willing to pay a travel-energy surcharge, I hit the road in my Chrysler Town and Country Mini-Van. I usually schedule these trips on a day free of other responsibilities, so I don't worry about being late for an appointment. The road to South Arkansas is flat and straght, with the scenery consisting of rural life and agricultural infrastructure plus very little traffic. When I start a trip, I put the address in the GPS, and I don't worry about the destination or the arrival time. If I want to vary my path, the map adjusts, providing me with the needed highways and arrival times. I prefer to work just in Central Arkansas, but I'm OK when the day is fair, and the road is paved.
