The advent of the new year always lets all the projects that have been delayed due to the holiday restart. These projects are business portraits, headshots, family, senior and baby portraits, and real estate listings. The pandemic also complicated things more than usual. It's hard to make portraits of a family while they are in quarantine. So, just hunker down and enjoy your own family especially the grandchildren who spend the holidays covering the floor with toys. There were times I thought the joy of the season was momentarily in focus as brief encounters presented themselves and I realized that I should not let them pass. My oldest granddaughter is old enough to appreciate some of the YouTube videos I like to watch. She will put up with mine as long as I allow a Frozen or Elisa video now and then. She would snuggle some and I liked that very much as I watched my other grandchildren swirl about the family room. We recently moved into a new house large enough for all our children and grandchildren to have a comfortable amount of room. The upstairs has a large bedroom and there is a children's room large enough for all of them to have their own corner, of course with a TV hung on the wall playing endless TV from NetFlix Kids. We enjoy being together but later in the day some time spent apart if desirable.
