Business portraits-headshots, senior, child, family portraits continue to be our most common activity recently. There have been several very satisfying commercial projects that I have enjoyed. Photographing a building at night is challenging and comes with a very limited amount of time to get the shot. If you're lucky you can start with a plain sky and add in any sky you want later with photoshop. The creative flexibility photoshop allows me is great fun. Sure the building and sky are not present at that exact time in that spot, I'm sure that it appears that way at some time of the year. Clients are well informed as to my ability to include a pleasant sky that enhances the property and they are not shy about asking. The ability to shoot from a high angle is also a great advantage. My drone allows the high angle but the quality of the photos is not the same as my professional full-frame Nikon. I have a tripod that extends up to 25 feet which I control with an app on my phone. The stand is safe and useful even in high wind, unlike the drone which can be affected by the environment. Commercial clients are usually businesses and pay better than other individuals such as owners and real estate agents. They also tend to be out of town and use the internet and search functions to find talent and resources. So we have to be very careful to be present there.
