Wintertime Reflections

February 20, 2022

Photographer Little Rock. Winter continues to be relatively mild, permitting our clients the ability to come in for their portraits or me traveling to real estate properties. I had to photograph one property covered with sleet; however, that didn't seem to bother the agent one bit, and it sold in just a few days. There continues to be a tremendous demand for properties, with many selling in just a few days and above the asking price. I photographed a house this week on the banks of the Arkansas River. It featured decks and walks that hugged the contours of the bank, providing easy access to the house, terraces, pool, and greenhouse. The main windows in the house were placed to feature the river, adjacent bank, and the distant hills. Clouds of pelicans swirled in tornadic fashion, dancing across the sky. I asked if they ever come up close, and the owner said they did until their dogs chased them away. The neighbors are visible but far enough away to provide a private environment.

My business clients are always interesting as I like to talk to them as I make their portraits. I think this relaxes them and makes it less likely they will listen to the sound of the camera, which can make them blink. I met a new officer for a major utility and discovered that he was also music director for his church and played the organ there; he also attended the same college as my youngest son.
