A new year is unfolding before us. We look forward to making many business portraits and headshots and working with families, seniors, real estate agents, and children to make their portrait desires come true. It is cold, and some days have little sun, but Arkansans can always be assured that it will feel warm and inviting when the sun makes an appearance. Real estate listings are best shot early in the morning and after 4 pm because the sun is low in the southern sky at midday. The sun will be right in your camera lens while looking south, and since all houses seem to face north, the main photo is hard to shoot at noon. These dimly lit days also affect the look of the interior windows. On bright sunny days, the light from outside is hard to overcome with artificial means and can cause the windows to glow. However, on dimly lit days, the windows have a more natural look, and since the human eye is attracted to the brighter areas, the view might see some of the other excellent features in the house. I've recently declared war on shadows cast from ceiling fan blades. I just noticed them recently when I started to see them in many of my photographs. I used a photoshop fix for a while, but I knew there was a way around that. After a talk with another photographer, you told me what equipment to use and how to achieve my goal.
